About The Position

Serve guests at Becca Restaurant & Garden at The Historic Cavalier Hotel in a hospitable manner to ensure a positive guest experience. The bartender prepares and presents beverages, maintains bar supplies and garnishes, processes guest orders and payments, and follows applicable requirements for serving alcoholic beverages. The role requires regular attendance and availability to work on a regular basis. Hotel experience is preferred.

Requirements

Communicate well with guests and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Have basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks and the bank, prepare cash drops, total charges, and understand portion sizes.
Have sufficient manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Be able to remember, recite, and promote menu items, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Be able to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale procedures to pre-check orders and close checks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Be able to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Have effective verbal and written communication skills and adapt communication style to different audiences.

Responsibilities

Maintain the daily bar setup, including requisitioning and stocking beverages, paper products, condiments, and produce based on projected needs.
Maintain stock and prepare, store, and replenish fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily.
Greet guests courteously and promote and document drink orders.
Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and prudent portion control.
Comply with state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Enter orders into the point-of-sale register and create checks for each guest, including guests served by other beverage servers.
Receive guest payments, provide change, verify charges, record transactions, and ensure vouchers are properly completed.
Lock and store beverage, food, and equipment items; deposit cash drops and secure the bank.
Follow attendance rules and maintain regular availability for work.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
