About The Position

Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital seeks a Room Service Server for its Nutrition department. The role provides service excellence to patients and guests selecting room-service meals and nourishments. The server uses departmental nutrition software and the medical record to support communication and implementation of physician-generated dietary orders. The role also involves taking meal orders and delivering meals to inpatients in a room-service setting, while providing knowledgeable and exceptional service about menu items, preparation methods, and allergens.

Requirements

• Obtain a California Food Handlers Card within 7 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• Read and write in English.
• Have basic arithmetic skills.
• Have computer skills sufficient to navigate Cottage's intranet site and learn department-specific programs.
• Have basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
• Have at least 1 year of previous experience in the hospitality or service industry.

Nice To Haves

• ServSafe certificate.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition software.
• 2 years of previous experience in the hospitality or service industry.
