Room Service Associate FT
About The Position
The Room Service Associate serves meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner. The associate instructs patients on the meal-ordering system, helps them place orders within the limitations of their physician-prescribed diets, and assesses their ability to use the system. The associate provides basic information about prescribed diets and alerts the patient’s Clinical Dietitian and/or Nurse when further education or assessment is needed. As the main representative of the Food and Nutrition Services Department on patient floors, the associate supports clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation. The position is full-time and works first and/or second shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. It is located at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana, in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals to patients professionally and efficiently.
- Instruct patients on the meal-ordering system and assist with placing orders within physician-prescribed diet limitations.
- Assess patients’ capabilities to use the meal-ordering system.
- Provide patients with basic information about their physician-prescribed diets.
- Alert the patient’s Clinical Dietitian and/or Nurse when further education or assessment is needed.
- Represent the Food and Nutrition Services Department on patient floors.
