This position involves performing a variety of duties related to food service for patients, serving meals and snacks professionally, ensuring proper rotation and maintenance of floor supplies up to PAR levels, and delivering appropriate room service menus to patients while instructing them on the meal ordering system. The role also includes assessing patients' ability to utilize the meal order system. The position requires effective, timely, and frequent communication with nursing staff, nutrition techs, dietitians, and call center staff. Responsibilities include using computerized diet sheets, accessing patient computer systems, retrieving completed meals from patient rooms, and recording intake and calorie count information. Maintaining compliance with all Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential. The role involves obtaining, transcribing, and processing meal orders from patients and visitors over the telephone, verifying that meal orders meet diet order parameters, and providing appropriate menus for diets. Excellent customer service, listening skills, and effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and nursing staff are expected. The position also involves evaluating and maintaining quality control standards.
