About The Position

The Room Attendant works with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and may work in the commercial laundry facility. The role follows brand time, product, and placement standards to ensure guest satisfaction. The position requires regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals and work on mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical activity includes standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, moving around the facility, and carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages are beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Previous housekeeping experience.
• Previous experience in the extended-stay industry.
• Fluency in languages other than English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in guest and client interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, taking corrective action to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and potentially cleaning kitchen areas and appliances.
• Notify a supervisor when service is complete and report rooms that cannot be serviced according to established procedures.
• When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment; operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturer guidelines; receive and inspect soiled linens; fold and store clean linens; and report damaged items.
• Minimize waste of housekeeping supplies and amenities.
• Assist with deep-cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs and unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
