The technician will build, deploy, and support hardware systems used by engineers, including bench-top development platforms and large server racks in the data center. The role also involves designing and fabricating custom test fixtures and prototype components using CAD and 3D printing, and helping develop labs for robotics and datacenter products.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, OnShape, or Fusion 360; Creo is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment alongside cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with electrical wiring and basic system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, build, and install bench-top development platforms and large server systems in bench and rack labs.
  • Deploy systems and racks in the data center, connect power and network, and bring them online.
  • Support parts replacement projects for small- and large-volume deployments.
  • Prepare boards for detailed solder rework performed by another lab.
  • Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
  • Perform mechanical rework using power tools such as a Dremel.
  • Design and produce CAD models and detailed drawings for custom test fixtures, and integrate the designs into lab systems.
  • Support the development, modification, and refinement of prototype components and fixtures, incorporating feedback from engineers and technicians.
  • Use 3D printing and other rapid-prototyping methods to fabricate, adjust, and assemble CAD-designed parts.
  • Run laboratory tests on prototypes and modify them to improve functionality and performance.
