The engineer will serve as a primary technical lead, installing and commissioning systems, diagnosing and resolving complex issues, and performing hands-on repairs. The role requires systems-level troubleshooting, customer communication, independent root-cause analysis, and decisions about corrective actions. The engineer will collaborate with customers, R&D, and Manufacturing to help ensure reliable operation and inform product improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and control systems.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, C++, or PLC logic.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and resolve issues in complex electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites regionally and throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of robot kinematics, electrical control systems, and proprietary software to advise on robotic-system design, integration, and performance.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customer issues; analyze complex mechanical, electrical, and software problems, determine corrective actions, and involve R&D when design changes may be needed.
  • Plan and lead on-site and in-house service engagements; determine repair strategies and replace components such as motors, sensors, cabling, and structural components.
  • Develop and refine preventative maintenance programs to improve hardware longevity.
  • Analyze schematics, test data, and diagnostic log files to identify root causes of performance issues and system failures, and recommend design or process improvements.
  • Write lessons-learned reports and technical service notes, and develop knowledge-base content based on field issues and their resolutions.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and R&D to share field findings for product improvements and represent customer perspectives across the product lifecycle.
  • Define regional service-kit and spare-parts requirements and ensure diagnostic equipment is calibrated.
  • Travel to customer sites regionally and throughout the U.S. for hands-on service, training, system installation, and commissioning.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance and a 401(k).
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning in robotics technology.
