The Roadway/Transportation Project Manager is responsible for delivering all project objectives for assigned projects, including planning, scope, schedule and budget, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, resource management, quality assurance, and reporting. The role also provides leadership, performance management, coaching, and mentorship to project team members.

Responsibilities

Manage projects in accordance with their scope, schedule, and budget.
Collaborate with disciplines and subconsultants to develop risk-averse project scopes and fees.
Develop project-specific plans, including Project Management Plans and quality management plans.
Create and maintain project schedules.
Manage subconsultants.
Monitor and execute project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in office project financial status meetings.
Build relationships with clients to understand their preferences and requirements and to establish and execute quality projects.
Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
Develop and lead project status meetings and presentations.
Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with marketing, including SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews.
Coordinate and guide technical resources within the project team to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Coach and mentor project team members through individual check-ins and project debriefs, recognizing achievements, identifying improvement areas, and sharing lessons learned.
Lead and manage team members through continuous performance management, including setting expectations and goals, providing feedback, holding one-on-one meetings, and coaching to support their growth and development.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
