About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern to join our Novi, MI office. Your role involves gathering, logging, and summarizing field notes or other data for technical studies or projects. You will establish and maintain records of technical data, perform mathematical calculations, and work with Bentley OpenRoads Designer. Additionally, you will assist in preparing graphic displays and presentation materials, and perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have completed 50 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
• Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles and design.
• Computation, math skills and drafting/CAD ability are generally required.
• Computer skills required to enter data and information in spreadsheets or databases.

Nice To Haves

• No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program.
• Preference to applicants who have CAD/OpenRoads Designer experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data to be used by technicians or professionals in technical studies or projects.

• Performs mathematical calculations.
• Performs various routine tasks in Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
