About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Raleigh, NC office. This role involves supporting the design and delivery of roadway transportation projects across North Carolina. The intern will assist with the preparation of construction plans, reports, and project documentation, learn to apply NCDOT roadway design standards and engineering best practices, and utilize engineering software to develop and revise project deliverables. The position offers collaboration with engineers and designers in a team-oriented environment and exposure to project development from preliminary design through final plan production.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- No experience is generally required if currently enrolled in a degree seeking program
- Familiarity with CADD software, AutoCAD or Openroads Designer
