Road Technician - Level 2
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment problems, and make advanced repairs at customer locations to reduce downtime safely and effectively. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment and makes in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a service or operations management career, and work with a team in a safety-focused environment. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required by the job.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment is strongly preferred.
- A CDL license may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
