Road Supervisors are responsible for providing direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street. This role requires flexibility with schedules, including split shifts, weekends, and holidays. The supervisor ensures operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards, and possess proper licensing. They assist dispatch and maintenance with field vehicle changes, help operators with service or passenger issues, and conduct site checks and road observations. Key responsibilities include monitoring on-time performance, providing feedback on safety and performance, adhering to company rules, and handling emergency situations and special events. The role also involves monitoring service operations, pull-outs/pull-ins, vehicle accident investigations, and vehicle inspections for safety compliance. Additionally, the Road Supervisor supports record-keeping systems and may act as a vehicle operator when needed. This position collaborates with management to ensure service delivery per contract and supports the Safety, Security & Training Manager. Reporting to management on driver performance and assisting with scheduling are also key duties. The role emphasizes adherence to the Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS), ensuring its effectiveness and promoting customer focus.
