About The Position

The Road Supervisor will provide direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street. This role requires flexibility with schedules, including split shifts, weekends, and holidays. The supervisor ensures operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards, and possess proper licensing and certifications. They will assist dispatch and maintenance with vehicle change-outs, help operators with service or passenger issues, and conduct site checks and road observations. The position involves monitoring on-time performance, schedule adherence, and providing feedback on service and safety to relevant departments. Adherence to company safety and operational rules, as well as SFRTA policy, is crucial. Responsibilities also include handling emergency bus bridges, special events, monitoring service operations, pull-outs/pull-ins, vehicle accident investigations, and vehicle inspections for damage and safety compliance. The Road Supervisor may also act as a vehicle operator when needed. This role involves ongoing collaboration with the Reno Keolis Management team to ensure service delivery per the contract with RTC Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA). Additionally, the position supports the Safety, Security & Training Manager and prepares reports for management on driver performance, assists with scheduling, and ensures the Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS) conforms to requirements, delivers intended outputs, and maintains integrity during changes. The role also focuses on promoting customer focus and reporting on RTSMS performance and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL, with passenger endorsement & air brake endorsements).
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • At minimum of 2 year of experience required as a full-time operator.
  • Knowledge of project specific vehicles, components, and data/communications systems.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies.
  • Strong customer service attitude.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments.
  • Ability to work independently and objectively.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street.
  • Ensure that all operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards and are in possession of proper licensing and certifications.
  • Assist dispatch and maintenance staff with vehicle change outs that occur in the field.
  • Assist operators with service or passenger problems.
  • Conduct site checks and road observations according to client and local policy.
  • Monitor street operations for on-time performance and schedule adherence.
  • Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on service items that affect safety and performance, identify potential safety hazards, and provide feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures.
  • Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures.

  • Observes driving skills and work habits of drivers in the field.
  • Supports the development and implementation of systems to maintain records on employees, equipment, compliance, and/or maintenance activities.
  • Act as vehicle operator as need it.
  • Ongoing collaboration with various Reno Keolis Management team to ensure the service provided per our contract with RTC Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA).
  • Provide support to the Safety, Security & Training Manager at the location.
  • Prepares reports to management regarding driver knowledge and skills.
  • Assists in scheduling and assigning daily bus routes and drivers.
  • Ensure that the Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS) conforms to the requirements.
  • Ensure that the RTSMS processes are delivering their intended outputs.
  • Report to management on the performance of the RTSMS and on opportunities for improvement and on the need for change or innovation.
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the integrity of the RTSMS is maintained, when any changes to RTSMS are planned and implemented.
