About The Position

The Road Supervisor is responsible for the effective management of the activities of the Road Service Department. This role involves managing and controlling work in progress on a daily basis to meet promised deadlines, assigning tasks to technicians, managing work schedules, and ensuring timesheets are completed and processed appropriately. The supervisor also ensures that equipment is prepared according to contract terms, establishes workshop procedures, and manages the recruitment, performance evaluation, and training needs of technicians. Additionally, the role includes participating in budget preparation, assisting with work orders, maintaining work-in-progress levels, preparing warranty claims, and assisting with parts and service quotations. A key aspect of the role is ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, taking steps to prevent hazardous situations, and implementing corrective measures. The Road Supervisor performs any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.

  • Supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with Komatsu products.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction equipment.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and controls work in progress on a daily basis to meet promised deadlines.
  • Assigns tasks to technicians according to their knowledge and skills.
  • Manages work schedules.
  • Ensures timesheets are completed and processed appropriately.
  • Ensures that equipment is prepared according to the terms of the sales or rental contract.
  • Establishes workshop procedures in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Manages the recruitment and performance evaluation of technicians and their training needs, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Participates in budget preparation.
  • Assists in the opening and closing of work orders, as required.
  • Maintains work-in-progress level according to company criteria.
  • Prepares and submits warranty claims in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the preparation of parts and service quotations.
  • Ensures compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Takes the necessary steps to prevent hazardous situations and implements corrective measures.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
