Requirements

  • Diploma in Transportation / Civil Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in road maintenance administration and infrastructure management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective customer service and time management abilities.
  • Working knowledge in civil engineering principles and road/asset management practices.
  • Familiar with MMS, Ontario Provincial Standards, Ontario Traffic Manual, and Highway Traffic Act.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Previous experience in road maintenance and traffic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, monitors, updates, and coordinates work orders in accordance with the Contractor’s Maintenance Services and to comply with Ontario Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways (O. Reg. 239/02) (MMS) and support preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support, maintain, and administer the Burnside Mobile Road patrol system, including coordinating and communicating with internal staff and local municipal partners, and ensuring timely follow-up to facilitate the completion and closure of work orders.
  • Conduct in-field validation of work orders to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards, and follow up on deficiencies to ensure timely resolution and closure.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries related to road maintenance and traffic operations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Review, reconcile, and process invoices received from road maintenance and traffic contractors for payment.
  • Assist in annual operating budget preparation and monitor in-year budget variance.
  • Support Risk Management by preparing and maintaining documentation related to liability claims.
  • Administer cost recovery process relating to motor vehicle collisions.
  • Coordinate Requests for Invoice (RFIs) with Finance to ensure timely payment processing and cost recovery for Halton Region expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
