About The Position

Provides and coordinates direct care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) using the nursing process. Manages care appropriately for assigned patients with life-threatening illness and/or disease. Demonstrates professional growth and development and commitment to service, Hamilton’s mission, values, and professionalism. The position works in a typical acute health care setting with patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. It requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, and involves working under stressful conditions and exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate school of nursing.
Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
BLS certification required.
Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia.
Proficiency in special skills demonstrated through completion of a critical care skills check-off.
Flexible schedule, including weekends.
Ability to handle and lift patients, perform manual and finger-dexterity tasks, and maintain eye-hand coordination.
Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
ACLS preferred.
CCRN preferred.
Experience preferred.
Critical Care Course/Internship preferred.
