About The Position

At St. Tammany Health System, the RN Staff - Home Health is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The nurse provides care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other health care team members, and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The service area includes West St. Tammany and Washington parishes. The position has an on-call rotation, and mileage is reimbursed. Scheduled hours are 32 per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role requires driving a hospital-owned and/or personally owned vehicle to perform essential duties.

Requirements

Current Louisiana RN license with no restrictions.
At least 1 year of clinical experience in acute care or other inpatient nursing experience.
Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course, including a manikin checkoff.
Proficient IV skills.
Valid and current state-issued driver’s license.
Maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance, at the employee’s expense, meeting at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of residence.
Good physical health; able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift at least 20 pounds.
Able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Able to perform the physical activities described, including handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching, climbing, balancing, and crawling.

Nice To Haves

Home Health or Hospice experience.
Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities
