About The Position

The RN Staff member is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other members of the health care team. The role supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The service area includes West St. Tammany and Washington parishes. The position includes an on-call rotation, and mileage is reimbursed. The stated schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; weekly hours are TBD.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted RN license with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Nursing education from an accredited institution.
At least 1 year of clinical experience in acute care or other inpatient nursing experience.
Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.
Proficient IV skills.
Valid and current state-issued driver's license.
Must drive a hospital-owned and/or personally owned vehicle to perform essential duties.
Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance, at personal expense, meeting at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of residence.
Must possess good physical health, including the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift at least 20 pounds.
Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

Home Health or Hospice experience.
Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities
