About The Position

Legacy Health’s nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families. Nurses serve as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers, and are respected members of the health care team. This position provides patient care in the Operating Room at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, a growing medical center serving East County. The center has five operating rooms and averages 12–15 cases per day, with advanced surgical services including two Da Vinci robots.

The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee and in accordance with applicable nursing standards and scope of practice. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care according to Legacy Health System standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The role requires 1–2 years of operating room experience circulating and availability to meet a 30-minute call requirement. The call schedule includes six weekday and six weekend call shifts per quarter.

Requirements

• Education as required by licensure.
• One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program in content, curriculum, and duration.
• 1–2 years of operating room experience circulating.
• Availability to meet the 30-minute call requirement, including six weekday call shifts and six weekend call shifts per quarter.
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
• Current applicable state RN license.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
• Scrubbing experience is preferred.
