About The Position

Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services includes the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms, a business office responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. This is a full-time, first-shift position with five 8-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday on-call duties are assigned by rotation. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified individuals.

Requirements

Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
A bachelor's or associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll in a bachelor's degree program within 12 months of hire and earn the degree within 5 years.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; candidates not already certified must obtain it within 30 days of hire.
ACLS, PALS, NRP, and successful completion of a dysrhythmia class as required by the department of assignment.

Supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and students.
Participate in weekend and holiday on-call duties according to rotation.
