About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital’s Operating Room team, which manages a wide variety of complex surgical cases in an 18-suite department, including organ transplants, orthopedic procedures and neurosurgical cases. Care is provided according to established standards, department guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures. The RN uses assessment and critical-thinking skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, support patient outcomes, and deliver care throughout the surgical journey. The role also involves direct interaction with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide education as needed. This is a regular PRN position with day schedules of 11:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., plus on-call and weekend requirements.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), presented upon hire or within the first year of employment depending on the department service level.
One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
Periop 101 or validated on-the-job training for operating room settings.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
One year of operating room experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes throughout the surgical journey.
