RN Staff Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
About The Position
Legacy Health is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. The role works closely with Angiography, Cardiovascular, and Electrophysiology Technologists in a dynamic, team-based environment focused on high-quality, patient-centered care and the use of advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies. The medical center is located in Southwest Washington. The nurse provides direct care across Cath Lab service lines and patient populations, excluding those at Emanuel and Randall Children’s Hospitals. The position supports a broad range of procedures, including interventional cardiology; vascular procedures; adult and pediatric interventional radiology and neuroradiology; adult and pediatric electrophysiology; structural heart interventions; and pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology. The nurse works as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team under the direction of the clinical manager or designee and follows the Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and Legacy Health System standards.
Requirements
- Education as required by licensure.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department in which the position is utilized.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care across Cath Lab service lines and patient populations, excluding those at Emanuel and Randall Children’s Hospitals.
- Support procedures in interventional cardiology, vascular care, adult and pediatric interventional radiology, adult and pediatric interventional neuroradiology, adult and pediatric electrophysiology, structural heart interventions, and pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology.
- Deliver direct patient care in the assigned Hospital Cath Lab setting.
- Function as a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
- Adhere to the Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
- Perform all phases of the nursing process: assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Follow Legacy Health System standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer.
