About The Position
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a Respiratory unit. The RN will primarily care for patients with respiratory conditions, including patients requiring isolation precautions, while supporting overall patient needs in an acute-care setting. The nurse may also be required to float to other Medical-Surgical units based on staffing and patient-care needs. These units may include Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and other related areas.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on facility/unit requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute-care or hospital nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in Respiratory, Medical-Surgical, or similar clinical settings preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Respiratory unit.
- Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and communicate significant findings to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately.
- Monitor respiratory status, vital signs, oxygen requirements, and other relevant clinical indicators.
- Follow appropriate infection-control and isolation precautions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and ongoing care.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Safely care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Float to other Med-Surg units as needed and provide care consistent with unit-specific requirements.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
