About The Position

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital's Spring 2027 RN Residency Program is a 12-month, comprehensive, transition-to-practice program designed to facilitate the progress of new graduate nurses from students to professional nurses. The program utilizes education, mentorship, and peer support to teach the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for continuous improvement in quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation with blended learning experiences. Opportunities are available in various specialties including Medical/Surgical, Transplant, Cardiac Progressive Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Cardiovascular Operating Room, and Women’s Services.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program
Current license in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC multistate Registered Nurse license
BLS CPR certification
Leadership skills
Effective communication skills
Initiative
Independent judgment
Ability to handle stressful environments

Responsibilities

Develop clinical judgment needed to rapidly recognize a change in patient’s condition and urgency of a clinical situation.
Cultivate excellent communication skills, allowing them to engage with colleagues and support patients.
Enjoy cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen their professional commitment to nursing.
Learn didactic content specifically tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations.
Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
Function within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
Maintain standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
