About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. The role involves providing direct nursing care to pediatric patients, performing pediatric-specific assessments and interventions, and supporting patients and families during hospitalization. Care must be documented according to hospital and Joint Commission standards. This is a night shift position only, requiring three 12-hour shifts per week, with additional holiday night shifts and weekends as needed. A background check is required due to the care of minors.

Requirements

• Any state license (current, active, unrestricted)
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• PALS required
• BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program
• Passed NCLEX
• 2–3 years of CURRENT pediatric acute care hospital experience
• Pediatric assessment and family-centered care in an acute research hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients
• Perform pediatric-specific assessments and interventions
• Support patients and families through hospitalization
• Document care per hospital and Joint Commission standards
