About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Interventional Radiology at the NIH Clinical Center, Nursing Department, located at 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD. The role involves providing nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures, monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures, including sedation management, and assisting physicians. The nurse will also be responsible for documenting care according to hospital and Joint Commission standards. The position requires 24-hour on-call coverage for weekends, holidays, and weekdays as needed.

Requirements

• 2 years of current Interventional Radiology nursing experience
• Moderate sedation monitoring
• Pre/post-procedure assessment
• Vascular access management
• Familiarity with IR suite workflow and equipment
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• Any state license works (current, active, unrestricted)
• BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program
• Passed NCLEX

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
