RN - Pediatric ED
About The Position
Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based pediatric emergency department team in Tacoma, Washington. The RN uses specialized nursing knowledge and training to provide care through a multidisciplinary approach, following the nursing process and hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. The nurse works collaboratively to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost effectiveness; supports learning for patients, families, staff, and care team members; and advocates for ethical, holistic care for patients from diverse backgrounds. This is a 0.9 FTE position with 12-hour day shifts scheduled from 0700 to 1900 and rotating weekends. Eligible new hires with a completed BSN and at least three years of RN experience may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification, as required by the facility or department.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in a specialty area preferred.
- One year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
- Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
- Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and members of the health care team.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
