RN Pediatric Complex Medical (PRN)
About The Position
ChildServe is seeking registered nurses to join its inpatient Pediatric Complex Medical program. The program provides around-the-clock care in a warm, family-centered environment for infants through age 14 who are unable to live at home due to complex medical needs. Nurses help each child thrive in a safe, caring setting. This is a PRN position, with the ability to pick up all shifts. Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, the nurse makes decisions and delivers a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process. The nurse maintains accurate, complete, and timely records; communicates professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others; provides training as needed; and demonstrates good stewardship of equipment, supplies, and the environment.
Requirements
- Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
Responsibilities
- Make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, using the fundamentals of the nursing process.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records according to nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to ensure each assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
- Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to advance the skills and knowledge of people involved in a child’s care.
- Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
