About The Position

The PRN Registered Nurse (RN) position is with Lakeside 60, a complex medical care unit with telemetry that treats patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. The unit offers exposure to a range of nursing procedures and opportunities to develop assessment and critical-thinking skills. Nurses on the unit have varied experience, from new graduates to nurses with more than 50 years of experience.

The nurse uses knowledge of the nursing process and nursing practice, along with technical equipment, to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies. The role requires a professional demeanor when responding to patients and compliance with University Hospitals policies, standards, and requirements for protecting patient health information. Other duties may be assigned, and department-specific responsibilities are provided during orientation.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the nursing process and nursing practice.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Current BLS Provider Certification from the American Heart Association; must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
• At least a diploma or associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
