About The Position

Capital Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Outpatient Primary Care Practice in Hopewell Pennington, NJ. This is a full-time, day shift position. The pay range is $34.90 - $45.83 per hour, with a standard work week of 40 hours.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
NJ or PA license based on primary state office location or multi-state compact license required.
Must have applied for second out of state RN license (NJ or PA) within three months from date of hire.
If working in CH Clinics, Wound Management, Maternal Fetal Medicine, or Occupational Health, only NJ RN license is required.
One year experience in an acute, urgent care or outpatient setting.
AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

Triages and assesses patients, determining clinical priority based on condition, medical history, and present status.
Performs and documents parts of the physical assessment, including chief complaint and vital signs.
Obtains and records patient medical history.
Discusses and reviews patient prognosis with medical staff.
Reviews and coordinates patient medical phone calls, assesses patient status, and schedules treatment.
Reviews medication refill requests, laboratory and test results daily and prioritizes them for LIPs.
Performs nursing care and treatment modalities appropriate for individual patients.
Assists LIP with procedures, performs EKG, removes sutures, cleans wounds, applies dressings, obtains specimens and cultures.
References policies and procedures to ensure Capital Health best practices are followed.
Administers medications accurately and safely.
Documents patient records according to established protocol.
Performs and demonstrates technical skills specific to the assigned ambulatory setting.
Calls in prescriptions to pharmacies under the direction of the LIP.
Completes competency checklist with preceptors.
Recognizes important changes in patient condition and reacts appropriately.
Acknowledges and includes patient's family during communication with the patient, as appropriate.
Supports principles from Capital Health core mission (quality care, compassion, dignity and comprehensive continuum of care).
Seeks interpretation or understanding of the illness, pain, fear, anxiety or other stressful emotion.
Prepares and maintains thorough, clear, and concise documentation in patient's charts.
Documents nursing actions, type and effect of treatments, patient responses, and other required information.
Performs Quality Assurance (QA) activities as defined by the ambulatory setting.
Documents quality control for waived testing and sterilization of instruments.
Oversees other quality and regulatory initiatives documentation and takes appropriate action to remedy any discrepancies.
Adapts to changing department demands.
Assists co-workers during periods of heightened patient care activity.
Performs other duties as assigned and may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed.
