About The Position

Capital Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Outpatient Primary Care Practice in Hopewell Pennington, NJ. This is a full-time, day shift position. The listed pay range is for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position, with actual compensation varying based on hours and status. The pay range is $34.90 - $45.83 per hour, with a standard work week of 40 hours.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • NJ or PA license based on primary state office location or multi-state compact license required.
  • Must have applied for second out of state RN license (NJ or PA) within three months from date of hire.
  • If working in CH Clinics, Wound Management, Maternal Fetal Medicine, or Occupational Health, only NJ RN license is required.
  • One year experience in an acute, urgent care or outpatient setting.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

  • Triages and assesses patients, determining clinical priority based on condition, medical history, and present status.
  • Performs and documents parts of the physical assessment, including chief complaint and vital signs.
  • Obtains and records patient medical history.
  • Discusses and reviews patient prognosis with medical staff.
  • Reviews and coordinates patient medical phone calls, assesses patient status, and schedules treatment.
  • Reviews medication refill requests, laboratory and test results daily and prioritizes them for LIPs.
  • Performs nursing care and treatment modalities appropriate for individual patients.
  • Assists LIP with procedures, performs EKG, removes sutures, cleans wounds, applies dressings, obtains specimens and cultures.
  • References policies and procedures to ensure Capital Health best practices are followed.
  • Administers medications accurately and safely.
  • Documents patient records according to established protocol.
  • Performs and demonstrates technical skills specific to the assigned ambulatory setting.
  • Calls in prescriptions to pharmacies under the direction of the LIP.
  • Completes competency checklist with preceptors.
  • Recognizes important changes in patient condition and reacts appropriately.
  • Acknowledges and includes patient's family during communication with the patient, as appropriate.
  • Supports principles from Capital Health core mission (quality care, compassion, dignity and comprehensive continuum of care).
  • Seeks interpretation or understanding of the illness, pain, fear, anxiety or other stressful emotion.
  • Prepares and maintains thorough, clear, and concise documentation in patient's charts.
  • Documents nursing actions, type and effect of treatments, patient responses, and other required information.
  • Performs Quality Assurance (QA) activities as defined by the ambulatory setting.
  • Documents quality control for waived testing and sterilization of instruments.
  • Oversees other quality and regulatory initiatives documentation and takes appropriate action to remedy any discrepancies.
  • Adapts to changing department demands.
  • Assists co-workers during periods of heightened patient care activity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed.
