About The Position

The RN provides accountable nursing care in accordance with the American Nurses Association’s professional standards and Michigan law. The nurse demonstrates competency using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and works toward optimal patient outcomes.

The position is on 4 North, a 33-bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma, and burn care. The unit collaborates with nursing colleagues, physicians, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation therapists, and care managers to provide comprehensive care. Patients commonly have polytrauma, gunshot wounds, injuries from falls or motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications resulting from traumatic injuries. The team emphasizes an inclusive, encouraging culture, continuous learning, professional growth, and shared accomplishments.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required within 60 days.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably in accordance with American Nurses Association standards and Michigan law.
• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Uphold professional performance standards, including ethical and culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
