About The Position
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides safe basic care to patients, including taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, collecting specimens, and observing patients for physical or emotional changes. The role also involves recording relevant information in patient charts and communicating with other members of the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care. The PCT/CNA may provide constant patient supervision as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
- Six months of experience supporting patients’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
Responsibilities
- Take patients’ vital signs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Collect specimens.
- Observe patients for physical and emotional changes.
- Record pertinent information in patient charts.
- Communicate with Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide constant supervision to patients as needed.
