About The Position

The Trauma ICU Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers. The RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support a positive patient experience. Responsibilities include assessing patients at admission and during each shift, reporting changes in condition, performing ordered procedures, documenting care, administering prescribed medications and monitoring responses, and maintaining knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Associate degree.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with medical providers.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Advocate for patients.
