About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, collaborating with healthcare teams, documenting care in the electronic medical record, educating patients and families, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Minimum 3 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Negative TB screening completed within the past 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CPSI/Evident Electronic Medical Records.
• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Strong IV therapy and patient management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical/Surgical patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and clinical progress, responding appropriately to changes in status.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
• Ensure adherence to patient safety and quality care standards.
