About The Position

This position involves providing direct and indirect nursing care to residents in various settings including long-term care, dementia care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. The role focuses on delivering compassionate, resident-centered care, particularly to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, developing individualized care plans, administering medications and therapies, providing wound care, and supporting patients recovering from various acute conditions. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate residents and families, maintain clinical documentation, and float between units as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Maine RN License or Compact Multistate RN License.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to geriatric and rehabilitation populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or Rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Experience in dementia and memory care settings.
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience.
  • Experience with IV therapy and complex wound care.
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents in long-term care, dementia care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation settings.
  • Deliver compassionate, resident-centered care to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments as prescribed.
  • Provide wound care management and monitor resident progress.
  • Support patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, fractures, joint replacements, and other acute conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes.
  • Educate residents and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Float between units as needed to support operational and patient care requirements.
