About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality, resident-centered nursing care during the overnight shift, scheduled from 6 PM to 6 AM. The nurse monitors residents’ health and well-being, administers medications and treatments within their license and scope of practice, documents care, communicates changes in condition, and collaborates with nursing assistants and other care team members. This role is suited to a dependable, compassionate nurse committed to helping residents maintain the highest practicable level of well-being. New graduates and nurses transitioning into long-term care are welcome; hands-on training and guidance are provided. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with a retention bonus of $5,000 for full-time nurses or $2,500 for part-time nurses. Requirements

Graduation from an accredited nursing program appropriate to the position.
Current, active Iowa RN or LPN license, depending on the position.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification as required by facility policy.

Nice To Haves

Previous nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric care is preferred but not required.
Experience is not required for new graduates or nurses transitioning into long-term care; on-the-job training and guidance are provided.

Responsibilities

Monitor residents’ health, assess changes in condition, and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.
Provide nursing care and implement resident care plans in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and applicable regulations.
Administer medications and treatments appropriate to the nurse’s license, scope of practice, and assigned responsibilities.
Monitor residents’ responses to care and report significant findings to the appropriate provider or clinical leader.
Promote residents’ dignity, comfort, safety, independence, and overall well-being.
Respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies and follow established procedures.
Work collaboratively with nursing assistants and other team members to ensure timely, compassionate care.
Communicate resident updates, care needs, and changes in condition to appropriate team members.
Provide guidance and direction to nursing assistants as appropriate to the nurse’s role and scope of practice.
Help maintain a respectful, supportive environment for residents, families, and coworkers.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, medications, treatments, and resident care.
Follow infection prevention practices, medication safety procedures, facility policies, and applicable regulations.
Protect resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.
Recognize and promptly report incidents, medication errors, suspected abuse, neglect, or other safety concerns.
Participate in quality improvement efforts and ongoing training as appropriate.
