About The Position
Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Augusta team as a full-time Night Shift Float Nurse. This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) per week, providing nursing coverage across different units as needed. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, teamwork, and supporting multiple units while delivering exceptional resident care.
Requirements
- Current Maine RN or LPN license in good standing
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing unit assignments
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care
Nice To Haves
- Long-term care experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to veteran residents.
- Float between units based on staffing and resident care needs.
- Assess residents and communicate changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Document care accurately and timely.
- Support a safe, respectful, and resident-centered environment.
