About The Position
The RN, Labor & Delivery delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The role supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff at various levels and coordinates care with other disciplines, using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. The position is based at Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, Oʻahu. Adventist Health Castle is a healthcare provider with a 160-bed hospital, medical offices, home care services, urgent cares, and other services throughout Oʻahu.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- Facility-specific BLS certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- Associates must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Acute care facility experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
- Develop plans prescribing interventions to attain outcomes.
- Implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
- Identify outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
- Provide health information directly to patients, families, and the treatment team.
- Participate in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
