About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology (IR) at a Level II Trauma Center. The unit is equipped with 7 pre/post-procedure bays and 2 procedural suites. The RN will care for both outpatient and inpatient patients undergoing a variety of procedures including biopsies, UFE's, Kyphoplasties, port placements, diagnostic angiograms, interventional arterial and venous procedures, IVC placements, venous thrombectomies, neurological thrombectomies, coilings, aneurysm rupture repairs, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. Patient ratios are 1:1 in procedure rooms and up to 1:3 in the pre/post area.

Requirements

  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience for travelers
  • First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
  • Experience in ICU care
  • Experience with moderate sedation
  • Experience with arterial line management
  • Experience with medication titration
  • Experience with chest tube management

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for outpatient and inpatient patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
  • Manage patient care in pre/post-procedure bays and procedural suites.
  • Administer moderate sedation.
  • Manage arterial lines.
  • Titrate medications.
  • Manage chest tubes.
  • Assist with various interventional radiology procedures.
