About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. This position is with EMPATH Adult at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• At least one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
• Current registered nurse licensure from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or an accepted equivalent, or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
• Ability to meet the listed physical and sensory demands, including standing or sitting for extended periods, manual dexterity, lifting and moving patients or equipment, visual and auditory acuity, and mobility in clinical environments.
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations and meet the physical and emotional demands of patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities
