About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The position is in the Emergency Department at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or an AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
• Ability to perform the stated physical and sensory functions of the role, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
