About The Position

Adventist Health Mendocino County is a 25-bed critical access hospital serving the coastal community in Fort Bragg. The RN II, Surgery delivers coordinated nursing care to an individual patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards and the nursing process. The role supervises and directs assigned nursing staff at various levels and coordinates care with other disciplines, using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. This position is represented by UFCW.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
Department-specific AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification is required.
Associates must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Acute care facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect relevant data about the patient’s health or situation.
Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
Develop a plan prescribing interventions to attain outcomes.
Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluate progress toward outcomes and identify outcomes for the patient or situation.
Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
Provide learning opportunities and health information to patients, families, and team members.
Participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
