RN (One Day Surgery) - Premium Per Diem
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care in accordance with the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the Department of Nursing framework, and specialty-specific standards of patient care. The RN uses the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibility for nursing care and documentation, including delegating work to other levels of employees. The RN ensures that practice complies with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies governing health care. Premium Per Diem positions require at least three shifts per week for units with 12-hour shifts, or four shifts per week for units with 8-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact-state RN license in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Basic Dysrhythmia.
- Complete De-escalation Training at the first course offering after hire.
- Obtain Procedural Sedation skills within three months of hire.
- Obtain aseptic technique skills within three months of hire.
- Knowledge of nursing care across the lifespan.
- Effective people skills and communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in using technology in care delivery.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Six months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas.
