About The Position

Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal services.

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate’s degree or equivalent
• B.S.N., or M.S.N, or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years, required. This is effective April 18, 2023.
• Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Upon Hire required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
• Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association (exception: Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Taylor) Upon Hire required
• Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Critical Care, Emergency Care, Pre-Op and PACU, Radiology 180 Days required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required And
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association NICU, Family Birth Center, Family Birth Center, Mother Baby Care 180 Days required
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Family Birth Center 1 Year required
• Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association Pediatrics 1 Year required
