About The Position

Registered nurses provide and coordinate care for patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Responsibilities include assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, education, equipment maintenance, and communication of patient needs. The role is with TriStar Horizon Medical Center and is identified as PRN.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing in a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of employment.
• CPI certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions while maintaining accurate and detailed records.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
• Apply knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Promote hospital customer service initiatives.
• Use the nursing process to provide individualized care that meets patients’ needs.
• Perform technical skills and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to support patients and families.
• Assess and reassess patients; develop individualized plans of care; administer medications; document care; provide education; maintain equipment; and communicate patient needs.
