About The Position

MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join the hospital-based Emergency Department team at Allenmore Hospital. The RN uses specialized nursing knowledge and training to provide patient care through a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses are supported in participating in clinical decision-making, communicating with colleagues, developing professionally, and contributing to the future of nursing at MultiCare.

The role is listed at 0.9 FTE on the evening shift, working 12-hour shifts with alternating weekends. Allenmore Hospital is a 130-bed hospital in Tacoma with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies and a 24-hour Emergency Department.

Requirements

• At least one year of Emergency Department nursing experience is required; new graduate RNs and RNs without ED experience are directed to residency or fellowship opportunities.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Active ACLS and PALS certifications are required for this posting.
• One year of acute care experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in a specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
• Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
• Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
• Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
