PER DIEM NIGHT SHIFT RN - Emergency Department - Allenmore Hopsital
About The Position
MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based Emergency Department team at Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The RN uses specialized training, knowledge, and nursing care in a multidisciplinary setting, while contributing to a nursing environment that supports clinical decision-making, open communication, professional development, and collaboration. This per diem position is scheduled for night shifts from 1900 to 0730, in 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekends. The department requires at least one year of Emergency nursing experience. New graduate RNs and RNs without ED experience are directed to apply to a Residency or Fellowship opportunity. Allenmore Hospital has served Tacoma since 1929. It is a 130-bed hospital with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies and a 24-hour Emergency Department.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
- At least one year of Emergency nursing experience is required.
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required by the department-specific requirements.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- One year of acute care experience is preferred.
- Certification in a specialty area is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
- Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
- Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
