About The Position

The RN - Emergency Department role is at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital, a Magnet Hospital and verified Level II Trauma Center. The nurse provides exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacts directly with patients and families, and offers healthcare education as needed. The position offers the opportunity to build nursing skills and advance a nursing career. The schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of current acute care RN or Emergency Department experience; military RN experience will be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the AHA or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment.
• Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) upon hire or within one year of employment.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including handling and lifting patients, standing and walking for extended periods, and exerting medium-work levels of force.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Use personal protective equipment as required and follow Standard Precautions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
