About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is hiring an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for Windham Hospital. The Emergency Department provides care for a wide range of patient needs, from trauma and common illnesses to drug overdoses. The department has 23 beds, including a fast-track area and behavioral health space, and serves patients with behavioral health and opioid-related needs. The multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, advanced providers, nursing assistants, and administrative staff. Working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and following a patient-centered care model, the RN practices under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager. The nurse uses evidence-based practices, the nursing process, and applicable standards to develop plans of care addressing patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs. Practice is guided by the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, and medical staff direction.

Requirements

Minimum of one year of RN experience.
Working knowledge of the nursing process and customer service principles.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS and PALS certifications required within three months of hire.
Current Connecticut RN licensure or be in the process of obtaining it.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Nice To Haves

National certification in a specialty is preferred.
