About The Position

The Emergency Department RN provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department, up to and including level 1 trauma designation. The role uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice, works as part of a multidisciplinary team, and contributes to safety and quality at the point of care. Nurses are expected to model proficiency by precepting colleagues who are new to healthcare or UCHealth and to welcome learning in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment. BCEN certification standards are incorporated into evidence-based care models. Clinical educators support individualized specialty education and competency validation during clinical orientation. This is a full-time, onsite position at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado. The schedule is 72 hours per two-week pay period on nights. Pay is $35.29–$54.71 per hour, depending on relevant experience.

Requirements

State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer; card must be in hand before the start date and valid through 60 days of hire.
At least 6 months of RN experience.
If the applicant has less than 3 years of experience, graduation from an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
Relevant life support certification as determined at the position level.
NIHSS within 6 months of hire, renewed annually.
ENPC or PALS within 6 months of hire.
TNCC or ATCN within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
ACLS at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.
